Appetizer Spread via Love Lola
one thing’s for sure, i love a good glass of wine. so today i am so excited to share with you a fun, winter-inspired wine and cheese pairing with la marca prosecco. recently la marca prosecco sent over a sample of their sparkling wine, and i had so much fun trying it and pairing it with some of my favorite, yet simple, appetizers. once all of the holiday hustle and bustle is over, january can feel cold and dreary, and i find myself just hanging on until spring. we decorate and celebrate the holidays, so i thought, why can’t we let winter inspire us and continue to celebrate past the holidays. afterall, i believe there is something to celebrate every day. plus, give me some wine and cheese, and nothing can get me down ;).

i love this sparkling wine on it’s own, or you can easily add more flavor to it and spruce it up. i paired mine with some fresh berries and a sprig of rosemary, giving it a fruity, yet earthy, flavor. so delicious :).
happy weekend, friends, and cheers to focusing on our blessings and celebrating everyday!

A Fall Tablescape

i recently had the pleasure of working on this fun little project with jessi nichols photograpy. i have loved watching her business boom and her work evolve over the past couple of years. so, when she agreed to collaborate with me and shoot this fall tablescape i put together, i was thrilled! not only did i get to enjoy putting something pretty together, but i had so much fun working with and hanging out with jessi!

once thing i love about fall here in the south is enjoying meals outdoors. during this time of year, the weather is perfect and there is almost no excuse good enough to keep you indoors. so, in honor of the fall season, i put together a little outdoor fall table.

as much as i love fall, orangey and red hues have never been my favorite. i love bright pops of color and gold accents, so i knew i wanted to include these elements while still fitting within a fall theme. to do this, i used pine cones for place settings but painted them gold. i also picked brighter flowers but stayed with the season by adding feather accents. i have also been dying to use my vintage glassware, so i was happy they fit with the table nicely :). are you hosting thanksgiving, or do you have any plans for hosting a fall dinner? if so, i’d love to hear all about it!

A Valentine’s Day Dessert Party

February 7, 2014

in celebration of valentine’s day, i threw a little dessert party with a few of our close friends. my goal was to keep it simple, but to add diy touches. the “theme” of the party was gold, glitter, pink, and confetti. and what a happy combination it was! [i’m in a major pink and gold phase right now…] so if you’re looking for a little inspiration for a valentine’s get-together, whether its just you and your guy or you and your friends, look no further.

i made this five-layer chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream, and while i think tall cakes are certainly eye-candy, it was so hard to cut! cake was falling all over the place…
^it might be blurry, but i don’t care…still love this picture!
happy [almost] valentine’s day friends!!
