I haven’t done an Around Town post in a while, so thought I would mix it up! Scofield and I are always on the hunt for the best burger around, and we are convinced we found it! Golden Brown & Delicious is located in the village of west greenville, and shares a space with The Village Grind (another local favorite). They use farm fresh ingredients, so the menu is often changing. But I’m pretty sure their burger is always available.
Pregnancy…it’s such a magical, beautiful, delicious time. With each pregnancy I’ve found myself completely fascinated and in awe of the whole process, and amazed at what a woman’s body can do. I’ve also found myself stretched thin, tired, and eagerly waiting it’s end. It fascinates me how each pregnancy can look different, from baby to baby and woman to woman. With Piper, I had no stretch marks (insert loud cheers!), but with this baby I’ve found a few. The spider veins in my legs are worse, and the acne has been terrible. I really haven’t struggled with acne since high school, but in the first trimester I started breaking out terribly with cystic acne, and now I have leftover acne scars. There’s also the peach fuzz that has been kindly growing on my face, and all the popped little capillaries on my chest, arms, and face (yes, face! ugh!). There’s probably a few more bags under my eyes and some extra gray hairs, too. Oh, and don’t forget the swollen feet and puffy face!
As far as health goes, I feel like I learned a lot during my first pregnancy, that I’ve been able to put into practice this round. There are so many reasons to really focus on your health while you’re pregnant. Number one, healthy mom equals healthy baby! Number two, you’ll feel better and I truly believe it’ll impact the labor and delivery, and postpartum period for the better. Whether it’s eating, exercise, or rest, I’ve already seen the benefits of some of the changes I’ve made.
The countdown is on! Only three more weeks, give or take, until we meet our baby boy. I love how the nursery is turning out so far, and wanted to share a few snaps with you guys. While most people like to have the nursery fully done before baby’s arrival, I guess I’ve learned that’s not really my style ;). It took us a while to finish Piper’s nursery, but we loved it so much it was well worth the wait. Looks like we’re on the same track with this little guy, since we’ve had a lot of other projects going on as well. We’ve completed a complete bathroom gut and renovation this year, and are working on a master bedroom revamp, so we’ve been busy!
We still have to get a changing table, hang and decorate some shelves, and put up some curtains. One thing I have to constantly remind myself if we don’t get it all done is that he’ll never know the difference ;). He’ll be in our room for a couple of months anyway, so we’ve been putting a lot of energy towards that room to make it nice and cozy.
We’ve been trying to talk to Piper a lot about the new baby. She knows ‘baby boy’ is in mommy’s tummy, and she loves to go play in his room. We also have doctor’s appointments once a week now, so when we go she knows we’re going to listen to baby brother. I’m planning on taking her to pick out a gift for him, and then we’ll have a gift for her from him when she comes to meet him at the hospital.
It’s all getting so real, and it’s hard to believe we’ll be a family of four in a matter of weeks! In the meantime, you’ll find me cleaning with every spare second and soaking in time with Piper as our only little one.
