I know I’m a little late to the game, considering it’s January 5th, but I wanted to go ahead and share some of my new year’s goals anyway. I’ve never been one for making new year’s resolutions, because I know myself and know I will never stick to them. I also don’t like the idea of ‘quick fixes’ or ‘diets,’ and I feel like new year’s resolutions are kind of like diets, ya know? They quickly lose their momentum and you end up right back where you started, or worse. I’m all about the lifestyle change. So for this new year, I’m looking forward to some goals ….
In 2016, I hope to knock out our debt, and spend more time making our house a home. I’ve started reading “The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up” by Marie Kondo, and it’s the kind of stuff she talks about that really gets me excited (totally nerdy, I know). I hope to follow some of the methods mentioned and really reduce clutter and increase organization in our home.
In 2016, I hope to read more, both books and my bible, and maybe pick up journaling again.
In 2016, I hope to get back into the routine of exercising and spend more time on my yoga mat. But more importantly to love my body and appreciate it for all that it is. To move it out of that love, and because I want to take care of it.
In 2016, I hope to have grace with myself, and those around me. To believe the best in others and to let go of any anger or bitterness I’ve wasted too much time holding onto.
In 2016, I hope to do the hard things. To take the risks, to ask the questions, and to do the things I am afraid of.
Cheers to you, 2016! I’m ready for ya.
