Rockport, Massachusetts Travel Guide | lovelolablog.com

We headed up to Boston for a wedding, so we decided to make a trip out of it and do some exploring while we were there. I think we got there right before it got unbearably cold. While it was 70’s in South Carolina, we were in a high of 52 up in the Boston area. It was perfectly chilly, and we loved exploring while the leaves were still intact and falling. I highly recommend the Boston area in the fall.

We spent one day exploring Boston, and another day exploring Rockport, Massachusetts. Fun story, it’s where my parents visited when they were dating and claim “where they fell in love.” ;) It was fun to ride along the coast with them and hear of all the places they explored together.

To See:

Downtown Rockport – The streets were very walkable and covered with people, with adorable shops everywhere you turned left and right. There were private residences mixed in with the most gorgeous views of the bay. We loved walking along the street and strolling through each shop. I highly recommend parking and making a day out of it. I also recommend walking up to the top of the hill for the most amazing views.

If you get a chance, drive along the coast around the edge of the surrounding towns and finish your route in Rockport where you can stop and explore.

To Eat & Drink:

Brothers Brew Coffee Shop – They are a coffee shop, but I’d recommend going there for the donuts! They were seriously the best donuts I have ever had. So moist with the perfect amount of crispy along the edges. We had the pumpkin one, but if I could go again I’d try them all! It’s worth the trip for the donuts alone!

Bean and Leaf Cafe – We didn’t eat here, but it was a cute spot to grab a sandwich or a salad to refuel.

Roy Moore Lobster Co – The one thing you’ve got to get is lobster. I wanted a lobster roll so badly, but apparently it’s not as available in the fall/winter. We were given high recommendations for Roy Moore Lobster Co.

It was such a lovely afternoon, and I’d go back in a heartbeat! Have you visited Massachusetts? What were your favorite spots?
