Fall is my hands down favorite time of the year, and I try to do as much as I can outside to enjoy the beautiful weather before it gets too cold. I’ve partnered with my friend Stephanie from Olive and Tate to bring you the perfect fall afternoon: an outdoor picnic! It’s perfect for connecting with a girlfriend over lunch, or for a play date with kids.
We grabbed an extra basket for transporting everything outdoors, and brought some extra pillows for cozy lounging. Baby Georgia was so cute bundled up and lounging on the pillows.
We both joined forces to create a simple picnic spread. I grabbed an apple pie and quiche from the store (thanks, whole foods!), and Stephanie packed a delicious salad and pumpkin bread. To me, this is literally a perfect meal and it took very little prep on our part … because with 3.5 kids between the both of us, who has time for that!?
Spiced apple cider to really make it feel like fall!
A beautiful picnic outdoors doesn’t have to be complicated! It’s the perfect backdrop to connect with your girlfriends or family in a new fun, creative way. Plus, you don’t have to worry about meal time manners and inside voices, and crazy toddlers can run free and get all their energy out before bed or naptime.
Cheers, friends! This is my new favorite activity, and if it was up to me, I’d be grabbing a quiche and having an outdoor picnic every day! Thanks to the help of Terminix and a pest free backyard (seriously, we’ve had the worst problem with fire ants and they are finally gone!!), we can enjoy an outdoor picnic any day of the week.
